Day 24…

Our Round The World Challenge is on the cusp of 2,000 miles travelled and we have the Turkish city of Istanbul in our sights. Having skimmed the top of Bosnia and Herzegovina (remember when the Winter Olympics came from Sarajevo in 1984? Remember Torvill and Dean and their perfect score in their Bolero Ice Dance routine? If you want a trip down memory lane to watch it – click here) we then crossed into Serbia and through the capital city of Belgrade. Serbia is a stunning and lesser known country. It has no coast line so perhaps isn’t such a popular holiday destination but the landscape of very intentional arable fields is intriguing. It is an incredibly old and historic country – the stone remains shown in the photo below are thought to be the earliest stone sculptures known to man from 7000 BC! AND of course the famous River Danube flows magnificently through it!
